Every moment of your life that you are spending living in the Matrix—the system which is created by societal, mental, and emotional conditioning—you’re trading your input. Opportunity cost of life: what is it? You are paying with your life energy. You’re paying with your attention. And the opportunity cost is in the form of creativity, freedom, love, truth, joy, peace, and the expansion that you can experience when you are living your life.
Every time you operate from lack, you operate from scarcity. You have that fear, insecurity of taking a decision and acting on it instantly.
To fulfill any desire that is created from the Matrix, you’re trading your life energy. And the opportunity cost of life energy that you would have got if you had chosen your decision from abundance, from fearlessness, from courage, from the attitude of going into the unknown—to take the risk—to take the risk of living life.
There are hundreds of decisions that you take in the Matrix that are causing you to lose the opportunity cost of living life.
And that first decision begins with getting education in the field of study which you don’t like, you do not love. If you choose to study in the university to study something which you never wanted to learn—because the society and the world, the Matrix from where you have come, they think that you becoming an engineer, a doctor, an IT professional, a scientist, or anyone in the Matrix doing a job after getting the degree will be useful for the society—then that is the first opportunity cost lost: over learning something or investing your life energy in learning something or doing something which you can create from your talent, from your skills.
If you would have invested that time, money, and energy—your life energy—in flowing towards your passion, which gives you pleasure, which gives you happiness, then you would have saved the opportunity cost of a healthy life that you would have lived by now. The first opportunity cost that you lost is to study like a parrot, memorizing everything—something which has no meaning to your life—because that gives you a secure job, maybe in a government company or in a private company. But ultimately, it is a job.
If you had chosen to love yourself, you would have gone by your energy. You would have gone by your love for something to create. You would have been an artist. You would have been a musician. Because you wanted to have that white-collar job, you had lost it.
And the next level of consequences that followed with this wrong decision of yours is marrying the wrong person.
Because you have given in to the societal demands of studying something, having a degree, having a qualification that is suitable to find you a job in the Matrix—created by the Matrix. The Matrix here means the world, the society, which is composed of the people from your family and many families who have created a predictable kind of environment.
You get a degree to fit into the society, to do a job which is created by the society. Being a man, you lost that opportunity to create your life. If you had invested in yourself, you would have created your life from a new space. And that is the opportunity cost lost.
Ultimately, you are not happy.
And if you are doing a job created by the Matrix, you marry someone of the Matrix. You get a mediocre quality of partner in the form of your wife from the Matrix, who follows the same principle of robotic life. The programming done by the society is on this female also, who is becoming your partner. Where is the initiative to invest in life energy that you are?
You lose your masculine energy by marrying a female who is of the Matrix. Who told you that you need to marry so soon, so early? Why didn’t you wait for the right partner to come to your life energetically? Why were you so much in a hurry to sleep with her? To give in to your semen?
You had no control over your lust energy. You have never transmuted that lust energy into creation. You are stressed. You have anxiety. You are tensed all the time. You have lost it because when you are doing a job in the society of the world, your dopamine is not getting released. So the opportunity cost lost here is in the form of dopamine.
The real dopamine that you would have released if you had chosen yourself—if you had chosen to live your life the way you want—you need to know that only when you live your authentic reality, your energetic reality, your life purpose, the brain releases real dopamine. And that dopamine increases your testosterone level. And that testosterone level increases your masculine energy.
You have lost your masculine energy because now you are living the life of your wife. You are fulfilling the dreams of your wife who needs a big house, who needs children, who need social status, who need holidays and vacations.
The financial decisions—the next opportunity cost—comes in the form of financial decisions. When you are alone, a bachelor, you never had any loans or liabilities. You were minimalist in life. But the moment you get married, you need a big house on EMI. And then comes the next event of your life. That is the marriage. If you want to marry, you need a big house.
You cannot stay in a studio apartment or a one BHK flat. You need to get three-by-four, a villa. From where will this money come? By losing your life energy. A lot of your attention is gone because everything is energy. Whatever you invest—choose to invest in the Matrix—is at the cost of your life energy. You need more money to finance your big house, to finance your marriage, to finance everything that comes with marriage.
This is the big opportunity cost you are losing—to get married. And for that, you have to work more number of hours. More number of productive hours of your life you are wasting in the Matrix, in the marriage.
And with the wife comes the desires and dreams of the wife, who cannot stay with you in a small house. She needs more. She needs more and more of everything. More of clothes. More of jewelry. More of vacations. On one hand, you are having the EMI loaded on your head to be paid for 15–20 years of EMI—staying in a big villa. And then her desire to buy a car arrives, and you fulfill that desire and get more EMI.
Instead of paying the down payment of your house, you’re buying a car. And that creates more EMI. Next time, her desire to go on a vacation—and the vacation trip is not in your home country. It is an international trip.
You could have felt life more, enjoyed the food cooked at home, cooked your own meal by investing your life energy in it, by pouring your life energy in your meal. But you had wasted that opportunity cost in investing it in the international trip that could have been postponed for now. I ask my students who come with these mistakes, this blunder in their life, “Did you ever enjoy taking a shower in your bathroom?”
Have you ever felt how water feels on your body for 30 minutes, one hour? If you have not done that, hot and cold shower for 30 minutes rejuvenates you much more than going on a vacation on a trip to show up on social media.
And when you are bringing such kind of life who feeds on your money, then let me tell you, it is the worst decision of your life, and you have lost the opportunity cost of being free ever in this life. You can never be happy. You can never be free. You can never be powerful. You can never be in peace.
You have chaos. By trading off your opportunity cost of being in bliss and peace, you have lost the opportunity to be spiritually awake ever in this life. There is no chance that you will ever get free in this life.
If you are a sane man, if you are a smart man, sit down with your pen and paper and calculate the cost of living of one person—one additional person—on this planet. And you will know how much opportunity cost you have lost in terms of happiness, in terms of health.
The next thing: The mistake of the Matrix is—your health is kept aside. Earlier you were a fitness freak. You used to work on your health. You used to focus on your brain health, mental health. You used to go out in nature. How many times do you go out in nature nowadays? How many hours of your life do you spend alone with yourself? And did you ever notice that whenever you are alone in the house, your wife comes to disturb you, to seek your attention, to steal your attention in the name of love, in the name of relationship?
And when you are not paying attention to your wife, your wife says that you are a dry person. You are not a family man. Bullshit. This family man concept is—who told you to become a family man? And what is the meaning of this family man?
If you are a true lion, come out of the cage. Get divorced from such stupidity. Family man is again an ego created by the Matrix. And they worship the family man. What about the individuals who work on themselves? What about the people who are of much higher quality than these average and below-average men in the Matrix? If you are talented, if you are someone who is of a different quality, you do not need to become a family man.
The next opportunity cost that you lose is to become an independent man when you choose to be a family man.
A family man is a donkey who works for others. He’s a sheep who follows others.
When you calculate on a paper the cost of your decision of marrying your wife and all the expenses that come with it, and how many hours of opportunity cost is lost in living your life, you will have a reality check.
The next decision of the Matrix is to give birth to children. First one child, then the next. Because the child cannot stay alone, you need siblings for your first child. And then you give birth to others. And if you are not giving birth to a child, then you are not accepted by the society—people who themselves are donkeys, who themselves have remained in the cage for years, for generations.
And then comes the cost of maintaining that one life or two lives. You’re always stressed. You’re always running in the rat race to fulfill the desires and dreams of these people who have come to your life with your one decision. You followed in the trap of the Matrix by not visualizing the opportunity cost of your life lost. If you had seen how much of opportunity cost is lost in terms of my freedom, my happiness, my peace, my health, my wealth, you would have been a different person altogether by now.
In business, when you are living a life in the Matrix, you stop taking risks. You stop taking the risk of creating a business. You are mostly operating from scarcity, and you choose to do jobs instead of a new creation. You lost the opportunity cost of being an inventor. Being a creator. You would have created something unique in this world.
You would have brought something unique in this world from your source. That would have become your turning point. You would have become someone extraordinary, but you chose to be ordinary. So you lost the opportunity cost of being extraordinary—who would have created something which would have changed the way people live life. They would have become—they would have got the hope of living life in a new way.
But you lost it. And when you lose such opportunity, you lose the opportunity cost of creating wealth. All the time, you are budgeting. And all the time, you have to adjust your finances to meet the needs and demands and wants of your family members—for years. And then you take wrong decisions in investments also. You invest in real estate or properties that you feel are safe.
You fear investing in yourself because you fear that this investment will get into a dud investment, because you no longer trust yourself. A smart man who knows the opportunity cost of his life—like my students who do that, like me who does that—we invest in ourselves. We know that investing in ourself is the best investment. And that is why the Phoenix Project is successful.
For those who are ready to come out of the Matrix, who are selling their house, they are getting out of marriages, they are getting out of that relationship which doesn’t serve them. They are throwing people away from their life. They are becoming a minimalist, a digital nomad, a freelancer, an entrepreneur who will only see the opportunity cost of this life because they have understood one thing which I am teaching you right now.
You fail to invest in yourself, and you invest in materialistic things which have no return on investment. The cash flow that you get when you invest in yourself—when you treat yourself as an asset—is much more higher than any business or any other investments. But to play—if you invest in stocks or you follow the herd of sheep—you follow the people of the Matrix who are moving in a certain pattern.
You need to understand one thing. If you want to create a life which is totally of different quality, where you can see the opportunity cost of investing in yourself, then I have great dimensions before you.
Once you know the glimpse of these—you get the glimpse of these higher dimensions—you will take some initiative to change the investments that you have made so far.
You never know what will happen the next moment. Life is unpredictable. So you are losing. You have lost the opportunity cost of the unpredictability of life, which gives you an opportunity.
When you know that since life is unpredictable, I do not know what will happen the next moment, then let me live this life, this moment. You will start participating in life from now. Focus on the pleasures that you get now. Eat consciously. Eat consciously means engage all your senses in having the best food in that moment, because you do not know what will happen the next moment. And this is coming from the state of abundance, because you are living to experience the next moment from the space of abundance and surprise.
One day, since you have made your life so much predictable, there is no surprise left in your life. That is why you do not get the dopamine and serotonin released by your brain. No good hormones are released in you. And that is why you always remain in stress and unhappy. The stress hormones keep you in freeze mode, and that leads to your over-activation of sympathetic breathing.
And sympathetic breathing causes insomnia. And insomnia causes other health issues. When was the last time you slept well? Sleeping well is the opportunity cost that you lost due to choosing a life in the Matrix.
You are experiencing unbearable pain in the Matrix. Still, you are choosing to be there because you are choosing the comfort zone over going into the unknown. Going into the unknown is the opportunity cost that you have lost, because going into the unknown will bring you new opportunities. Man is an explorer by evolution. If you are an explorer, you will create something—either exploration in the external world or exploration in the internal world.
Both of these are going to reward you if you have chosen to be an explorer. But you lost it.
If you focus on life, you will breathe well, and that breathing well will keep you in vagus nerve. It will keep you in the highest state of health, and from that space, you will get connected to higher frequencies of universal energies, which gives you intuitive powers to live life. You will get intuition of what could be the next step, and you will not fear.
You will not operate from scarcity and insecurity. You will operate from abundance. You will look forward to life. And when you look forward to life, the surprise element will come, and the brain will release serotonin. And when you take the adventure and the challenge of living life this way, your real dopamine will be released because you have overcome the challenge.
Dopamine is released when you have a sense of achievement towards something. When you are into the unknown, the brain understands that it was a challenge, and now you have overcome. So this automatically releases dopamine—the true dopamine. And when dopamine will be released, your testosterone level will rise up, and it will make you more masculine, more adventurous, more rebellious.
And naturally, when you are feeling powerful, you will take the initiative to create your life from love. For love for yourself—become selfish, extremely selfish to live your life. Everyone is given their life to live. Likewise, you live your life. And that will release oxytocin in you, which comes from real love energy. And when you are physically strong, mentally strong, emotionally strong, you are enterprising—and that enterprising will keep you in movement.
You will no more be stagnant to one place that you do in the Matrix. You have lost your masculine energy by working at the desktop for eight, ten, or twelve—or sixteen—hours. A man is not born for that. You should go out. You should travel. You should be enterprising to create your life. You should live the instinctive life that I teach.
Cook your food. Eat your food. Do all the daily chores of life and create something from that space into this world. You bring something which is coming for the first time. Live alone. Independent. Do not remain stagnant to one place. Exercise your body. Do some physical movement. And all these instinctive functions that you do release endorphins in you.
The happy hormones that the brain releases in you is due to the lifestyle that you choose. If you are driven towards your passion with pleasure and living the instinctive life—this is the secret, note it down—living life of your passion with pleasure and living the instinctive life releases real good hormones. True good hormones in you. And that is the opportunity cost that you had lost by remaining in the Matrix.
It is your choice—because it is your life. Your life, your choices, your results. The rewards that you get in the form of happiness—permanent happiness, 24 by 7. Unlimited happiness—is a choice. You chose to be in scarcity, and you lost the opportunity to be in abundance. So the opportunity cost of life energy that you traded in the name of the Matrix was your choice.
