How to Integrate Kundalini With Your Brain and Nervous System

August 28, 2026

Background

Guru Sanju teaches that Kundalini awakening is not completed through spiritual experiences alone. For her, real progress begins when the seeker learns to manage energy consciously, strengthen the brain and nervous system, rebuild vitality, return attention to the present moment, and finally live the life that Kundalini is trying to open.

In this discourse, she explains why techniques must be learned through personal implementation before they are taught to others. She connects Kundalini management with ojas, conscious breathing, brain detoxification, masculine life force, dopamine-producing action, and the willingness to enter the unknown. Her central message is uncompromising: spiritual knowledge without embodiment becomes another form of mental accumulation. The seeker must practice, observe, gain direct results, and integrate consciousness with the physical body. Kundalini is universal energy, but mastery comes through learning how that energy operates within everyday human life.

Your Technique Must Produce an Experience

If you are working with people and teaching them techniques, understand your responsibility clearly. You are not responsible for creating a magical solution for every problem in another person’s life.

You can teach a technique, help the person implement it correctly, and allow the person to observe the result. If somebody expects you to make them permanently happy without changing anything in their own life, you are entering an area that no technique can solve for them.

A person may possess enormous wealth and still remain unhappy. Another person may have fewer external resources and experience deep peace, because external achievement and inner state are not automatically the same thing.

Know the Boundary of Your Work

If your work is technique-oriented, keep the boundary of your work very clear. You can help people learn practices that bring their attention back, settle internal chaos, improve their relationship with their body, and create greater stillness and peace.

But do not carry responsibility for every emotional condition, relationship, desire, financial decision, or life problem of the person. Your responsibility is to teach properly, and their responsibility is to implement.

This distinction will protect both you and the person receiving your guidance.

Learn It in Yourself Before Teaching It

I want my students to learn through direct implementation. When I give you a technique, do not immediately become excited about teaching it to ten other people.

First implement it in yourself. Observe what it does to your body, attention, energy, emotional state, breathing, consciousness, and daily functioning.

When you have understood a technique through experience, then you have something real to communicate. Otherwise you are simply transferring information from one mind to another.

Twenty-One Days of Conscious Implementation

A powerful way to work is to take one practice and remain with it consistently for a period such as twenty-one days. During that time, observe yourself instead of mechanically repeating the exercise.

Notice what changes in your energy, clarity, sleep, concentration, motivation, mood, vitality, and awareness. Keep notes if necessary so that you can see whether the technique is actually creating a meaningful shift.

Then the practice begins becoming knowledge inside your own system.

Your Kundalini Progress Depends on How You Live

Kundalini does not progress merely because you have once met a Guru or experienced something powerful. Your lifestyle continues participating in the speed and direction of your awakening.

When you are deeply connected with a Master, you may experience a different energetic movement because your consciousness is being challenged and supported in another way. When you return completely to the ordinary rhythm of your old life, Kundalini may also begin moving according to the pace you are willing to live.

Nothing is wrong with that. It simply means your choices participate in the journey.

You Cannot Postpone Your Life Forever

Sometimes a person knows that a major part of life has completed, yet continues remaining there because the familiar feels safer than the unknown. The mind keeps postponing the transition while Kundalini keeps creating dissatisfaction.

If your inner life is asking you to move and you continuously delay that movement, the suffering may continue because the contradiction remains. You are trying to preserve the old structure while another part of you is already asking for a new life.

Kundalini often becomes powerful precisely at these thresholds.

The Heart Opens When You Begin Living

You cannot permanently open the heart chakra while continuously refusing the life that wants to emerge through you. The heart is not only an energetic center to be activated through meditation.

It is also connected with your willingness to live, feel, connect, love, participate, receive, and allow new experience. When life becomes excessively mechanical, the heart can begin feeling closed because your energy has no fresh field through which to expand.

Sometimes the next heart-opening technique is a decision.

Ojas Is Your Deep Vitality

In yogic understanding, ojas represents a refined vitality, resilience, stability, and nourishing essence of the organism. When I tell you that your ojas must be rebuilt, I am speaking about restoring the feeling that your system has substance again.

You should not feel as though everything inside you has been consumed by thinking, stress, spiritual processing, work, or accumulated exhaustion. Your awakening needs vitality because consciousness requires a healthy instrument through which to operate.

Rebuilding yourself is therefore part of Kundalini management.

Do Not Spend All Your Energy in the Head

One of the greatest mistakes in spiritual life is to remain permanently inside mental activity. You read, analyze, remember experiences, interpret energy, think about Kundalini, think about enlightenment, and think about consciousness.

Eventually you can become very knowledgeable and still not be living. I call this spiritual masturbation because the person remains absorbed in internal stimulation while real life is waiting outside the mind.

An experience has value only when it transforms the way you exist.

Kundalini Must Be Integrated With Life

Kundalini is universal energy, but you are experiencing that energy through a human brain, nervous system, body, relationships, work, decisions, and environment. Therefore Kundalini management is not about escaping human life.

You must learn how to remain conscious while participating in life. You must work, move, choose, create, communicate, take risks, rest, and experience the world while maintaining connection with your center.

This is where spiritual evolution becomes embodiment.

The Present Moment Is the Training Ground

I want you to learn how to live in the present moment with the rhythm of life. Presence cannot remain an idea that you remember only during meditation.

When you breathe, know that you are breathing. When you move, experience the movement, and when somebody speaks with you, actually remain present enough to receive what is being said.

Slowly you begin feeling that consciousness, brain, body, and nervous system are becoming integrated again.

Too Much Information Can Become Another Burden

A seeker can accumulate enormous amounts of spiritual knowledge over many years. Every book, teaching, memory, interpretation, technique, belief, and conclusion becomes another layer stored inside the mind.

The problem is not memory itself. The problem is that old information can continue determining present behavior without being consciously examined.

You think you are responding to the present moment, but sometimes you are merely repeating a neural, emotional, or psychological pattern that was created years ago.

What I Call Brain Detoxification

When I speak about brain detoxification in this teaching, I am talking about interrupting stale mental and energetic patterns and bringing new consciousness into the present experience. I want you to stop feeding every old pathway automatically.

The objective is to bring fresh attention into breathing, movement, perception, action, and life. You cannot physically erase every memory through breathing, but you can change your relationship with the patterns that memory continuously triggers.

New attention creates the possibility of a new response.

Your Brain Needs New Experience

If you keep doing everything in exactly the same way, the mind becomes extremely efficient at repeating what it already knows. Familiarity may feel comfortable, but excessive familiarity can also make life mechanical.

This is why conscious action and entering the unknown are important. You need experiences that require presence instead of allowing you to move automatically through the day.

The unknown wakes attention because you cannot navigate it entirely through yesterday’s programming.

Dopamine Must Be Connected With Living

Every day, do something that gives you a genuine sense of movement, effort, completion, learning, achievement, or discovery. I want your reward system to become connected with living your life rather than only consuming stimulation.

Dopamine participates in motivation, learning, reward, and goal-directed behavior, but do not reduce your entire spiritual journey to one chemical. The deeper teaching is that your brain needs meaningful engagement.

Give yourself reasons to act.

Enter the Unknown

Take appropriate risks. Learn something unfamiliar, enter a new environment, accept a challenge, attempt a task that requires courage, or place yourself in situations where you cannot survive entirely through habitual programming.

You do not need reckless danger. You need enough uncertainty to awaken your attention and remind your system that life is still expanding.

Growth begins where your old identity no longer has every answer.

Rebuild Your Masculine Life Force

For a man, I may also look at what I call masculine energetic qualities: direction, courage, initiative, risk-taking, grounded strength, decisive action, and the willingness to enter the unknown. When these qualities remain unused for a long time, the person may subjectively experience a loss of masculine force.

This should not be confused with a laboratory diagnosis of testosterone deficiency, which requires proper medical testing. I am speaking here about the energetic expression of masculine vitality.

Your life force must have somewhere to go.

Physical Activity Is Not the Entire Answer

Sports, exercise, movement, sleep, nutrition, and overall health can support the physical body and may influence hormone health. But you can be physically active and still remain psychologically afraid of the unknown.

I want courage to become active in your life as well. The body may become stronger through sport, while the consciousness becomes stronger through choices that require responsibility.

Kundalini wants both dimensions to develop.

The First Technique: Active Brain Detoxification

The first practice combines nasal inhalation, mouth exhalation, coordinated arm movement, and focused awareness. Use an upright seated or standing posture with enough space to raise both arms comfortably.

Keep the spine naturally lengthened, shoulders relaxed, feet or sitting bones grounded, and abdomen free enough for breathing. Close the eyes if this helps you remain inwardly attentive and if you can maintain balance safely.

The purpose is to break mechanical breathing and bring fresh consciousness into a complete physical action.

Raise the Arms With the Inhalation

Begin inhaling through the nose and simultaneously raise both arms upward. Allow the movement to follow the inhalation instead of moving the arms separately from the breath.

Feel the air entering, the chest expanding, and the body becoming more alert. Keep your attention with the entire movement from the beginning of inhalation until the arms reach their comfortable upper position.

Nothing should happen unconsciously.

Exhale Through the Mouth and Bring the Arms Down

Now exhale through the mouth while bringing both arms downward. As the hands descend, gently close them into fists so that the physical movement expresses completion and release.

Feel the exhalation rather than throwing the breath out violently. Allow the abdomen to move inward naturally as the breath leaves.

Then immediately return your attention to the next conscious inhalation.

Create a Complete Movement

The cycle is simple: inhale through the nose while the arms rise, then exhale through the mouth while the arms descend and the hands close into fists. The value is not in complexity.

The value is in the total participation of your consciousness. Breath, movement, attention, and intention should become one action instead of four separate activities.

This is how an ordinary breath becomes a conscious practice.

Begin According to Your Capacity

If the practice is completely new to you, begin with a small number of comfortable repetitions and observe your response. Do not assume that hundreds of repetitions are automatically better simply because a larger number sounds more powerful.

As you gain familiarity, you may work with structured sets according to your capacity and appropriate guidance. If you become dizzy, faint, unusually breathless, distressed, or strongly uncomfortable, stop and return to normal breathing.

Intensity must never become more important than consciousness.

Observe Yourself After Every Set

When a set is complete, become still. Do not immediately reach for your phone or distract yourself.

Observe your heartbeat, breathing, head, chest, abdomen, emotional state, alertness, and overall quality of energy. Notice whether you feel lighter, clearer, more activated, calmer, more embodied, or simply different.

Your observations teach you how the technique interacts with your system.

Keep a Twenty-One-Day Record

If you choose to work with this technique as a twenty-one-day practice, maintain a simple record. Write down what you experienced before and after the practice rather than merely recording how many repetitions you completed.

Track your energy, clarity, concentration, motivation, mood, sleep, and sense of presence. After several weeks, patterns become easier to recognize.

Your own data prevents spiritual practice from becoming fantasy.

The Second Technique: Continuous Complete Conscious Breathing

The second technique is different and should be practiced separately from the active movement technique. Here the primary work is attention itself.

Sit comfortably with an upright but relaxed spine. Let the shoulders, jaw, face, and abdomen remain soft enough for natural breathing.

Now breathe through the nose continuously.

Inhale and Exhale Through the Nose

Begin with a conscious nasal inhalation and follow it with a conscious nasal exhalation. Do not deliberately insert a breath retention between them.

The breath should move rhythmically from inhalation into exhalation and then into the next inhalation. A comfortable rhythm may naturally approximate a few seconds in each direction, but your breathing should remain easy rather than forced into an exact number.

Continuity is more important than counting.

Make Every Breath Complete

Complete breathing means you remain attentive enough to experience the full inhalation and the full exhalation. You are not taking half a breath while thinking about something else.

Feel the inhalation arriving, expanding, and completing. Then experience the exhalation leaving, softening, and completing before the next cycle naturally begins.

Your awareness should travel with the breath throughout the entire movement.

Bring New Consciousness to an Old Technique

You may say, “I already know this breathing technique.” That thought itself can become the problem.

The moment you assume you already know it, the old neural pathway takes over and the practice becomes mechanical again. I want you to approach the next breath as though you have never breathed consciously before.

New consciousness transforms an old action.

Do Not Practice Through Memory

Memory says, “This is how I did it yesterday.” Consciousness says, “What is happening now?”

This difference is essential in Kundalini work because the state of your body and energy today may not be identical to yesterday. If you practice only through memory, you stop perceiving the present.

Technique must remain alive.

Remain With the Breath for a Dedicated Period

You may initially practice continuous conscious breathing for a manageable dedicated period and build consistency gradually. The transcript teaching emphasizes longer repeated periods throughout the day, but the principle is more important than forcing a fixed duration.

Your attention should remain with the breath without strain. If continuous breathing begins producing dizziness, tingling, panic, significant light-headedness, or discomfort, return to normal unregulated breathing.

The purpose is integration, not respiratory stress.

Practice the Two Techniques Separately

Do not automatically combine every breathing method into one large spiritual routine. The active nose-to-mouth technique has a different quality from continuous nasal conscious breathing.

Allow each practice its own space so that you can identify its effect. When techniques are constantly mixed together, you may no longer know what is actually producing the change.

Clarity requires separation and observation.

Allow the Practice to Enter Daily Life

The final objective is not to become somebody who performs techniques throughout the day while remaining unconscious everywhere else. The practices are training your attention so that consciousness gradually begins accompanying ordinary life.

Eventually you should notice yourself breathing while walking, speaking, eating, working, resting, and making decisions. Your consciousness starts inhabiting your life again.

This is the real result I want.

Brain, Nervous System and Consciousness Must Integrate

You may experience pure witnessing consciousness internally, but you still need to function through the brain and nervous system. Awakening is incomplete when the seeker remains detached from ordinary embodiment.

I want consciousness to integrate with your neurological, emotional, energetic, and physical life so that you can use your awareness in the world. Your inner silence must eventually become capable of action.

Otherwise spirituality becomes another escape.

Stillness Must Become Functional

If your practices bring peace and stillness, that is valuable. But what happens when you return to work, relationships, uncertainty, responsibility, money, health, or conflict?

The real test is whether the consciousness developed in practice remains available when life moves. Kundalini mastery means carrying the center into activity.

Peace should make you more capable of living, not less.

Learn Kundalini Like a Serious Student

I want Kundalini learning to become disciplined and experiential. Think of yourself as a serious student rather than somebody collecting spiritual entertainment.

Learn a principle, practice it, study your response, understand the energy behind it, and then move to the next level. This creates depth because each teaching is built upon something you have already embodied.

Your own life becomes the laboratory.

Kundalini Management Is an Intelligence

Kundalini is not merely an unpredictable force that appears and leaves you helpless. You can learn how different states of energy respond to breath, attention, movement, action, rest, grounding, challenge, emotional expression, and conscious living.

This learning gradually develops energetic intelligence. You begin knowing when you need activation and when you need rest, when you are overloaded and when you are stagnant, and when your attention has moved too far into the head.

That intelligence gives you greater freedom.

Do Not Become Dependent on the Guru

The purpose of learning from a Master is not permanent helplessness. You come into the Guru’s presence to learn, experience, refine, and understand something that you have not yet mastered yourself.

Then you practice. You observe, integrate, and become increasingly capable of managing your own state.

Real teaching should increase your consciousness and responsibility.

Presence Can Accelerate Learning

At the same time, direct learning in the presence of an experienced Kundalini teacher can create a very different intensity of attention. A student can receive immediate correction in breathing, posture, movement, awareness, and energetic practice.

Within my own work, I also use the energetic presence that I have developed through my Kundalini journey. The student then practices independently and discovers what has actually become embodied.

Presence may initiate something, but implementation establishes it.

Live the Life That Has Been Given to You

You have been given a human life, not merely a spiritual mind. Kundalini wants your consciousness awake inside that life.

Take action, experience the world, build your vitality, enter new situations, use your brain, strengthen your attention, express your energy, and allow yourself to evolve. Do not remain trapped inside yesterday’s memories simply because they feel familiar.

Your spiritual journey should eventually make you more alive.

The Unknown Is Part of Your Evolution

When you know everything that will happen tomorrow, consciousness can become lazy. The unknown demands a different quality of presence because old programming cannot completely predict the next moment.

This is why I repeatedly ask students to do something new, take an intelligent risk, create a challenge, or enter an environment that awakens them. You begin accessing parts of yourself that routine never required.

Life force grows through participation.

Let Kundalini Become Practical

Do not measure your progress only through lights, visions, sensations, chakra experiences, or unusual energetic phenomena. Ask whether you are becoming stronger, clearer, more conscious, more capable of action, and more available to life.

Ask whether your attention belongs to you, whether your nervous system can remain present, and whether your daily choices reflect what you have realized. These are practical signs that awakening is entering the structure of your life.

Kundalini must eventually become visible through the person you are becoming.

Practice, Observe and Become

Learn one technique deeply. Practice it consciously, observe the result, and allow your experience to teach you what intellectual knowledge cannot.

Then continue developing the next dimension of yourself: vitality, attention, courage, presence, emotional openness, energetic intelligence, and the ability to enter life without hiding inside the mind. This is how Kundalini becomes an evolutionary education rather than another collection of spiritual ideas.

You learn, implement, transform, and become capable of living from consciousness.
