Should You Allow Kundalini Kriyas or Try to Stop Them?

September 20, 2026

Background

Guru Sanju explains why Kundalini kriyas, or involuntary body movements, should not simply be suppressed when they are connected with Kundalini awakening. She describes kriyas as a way through which extra energetic charge is released from the body and nervous system when the system is experiencing more Kundalini energy than it can process comfortably.

She emphasizes that similar movements can also arise from neurological conditions, hormonal changes, substance use, medications, excessive meditation, and other health issues, so medical evaluation should come first. Once other causes are ruled out, she teaches grounding through natural living, physical movement, sunlight, nature, touch, barefoot walking, open posture, and instinctive activity. She also explains how contraction, shame, fear of judgment, and deliberately controlling involuntary movements may create further holding in the nervous system.

Do Not Automatically Stop Kundalini Kriyas

When involuntary movements called kriyas happen in your body, do you try to control them? When you are shaking, vibrating, or moving automatically, do you try to hold these movements inside your body?

You need to understand the intelligence behind why Kundalini has awakened and why you should not stop these movements. My direct answer is that you should not stop Kundalini kriyas from processing within you when they are actually connected with Kundalini.

Kriyas Release Extra Charge From the Body

Kundalini kriyas make your body go through involuntary movements that release energy from your body. I understand this as the release of extra charge from the body and, scientifically, as extra electrons that need to be removed from your nervous system.

Energy can release from your body in different ways, and kriyas are one of those ways. Your nervous system does not need the extra electricity downloaded into your body. During Kundalini awakening, there can be many Kundalini downloads into your nervous system, creating an overload of energy.

Your Nervous System Is Like an Electrical Circuit

This extra overload of energy leads to involuntary movement because your nervous system is unable to process so much energy at once. You can understand your nervous system like an electrical circuit.

If an electrical circuit carries extra voltage, it reacts and sheds the extra charge. This is why a fuse system is used in electrical appliances to balance the effect of an overload or excessive voltage.

Similarly, during Kundalini awakening, an overload of energy in your energy channels is reflected through your nervous system as kriyas and involuntary movements. You should allow these movements when they are part of this process.

Kriyas Can Be a Sign of Blockages Releasing

Kriyas can be a sign of the clearance of blockages, holds, and contractions in your nervous system. If your body is contracted and Kundalini is trying to release that contraction, energy may automatically release through your hands and feet.

In such cases, grounding helps a lot. Grounding means releasing energy from the head and brain toward the ground and toward the peripheral nervous system.

A lot of energy can remain lodged in the central nervous system, spine, and energy channels. These energies need to become balanced and integrated so that you can live a life that is full of integration.

Controlling the Movements Creates More Contraction

This process is possible when you allow the kriyas, but sometimes you do exactly the opposite. You control your body movements because you may feel ashamed of your condition or may not want people around you to know that you are going through Kundalini awakening.

You may also control the movements because you fear other people’s judgment. When you control yourself this way, you remain in contraction mode and can make the condition worse by pushing your nervous system toward freeze mode.

I connect prolonged control of involuntary movements with severe states of neurosis or Kundalini psychosis. This is why, if you are experiencing these kinds of involuntary movements, my advice is to get yourself medically checked.

Rule Out Medical Causes First

Once you get yourself checked, you can begin understanding whether these movements are connected with Kundalini or something else. If there is another medical condition, hormonal change, disease, or neurological issue, medical evaluation can help you identify and rule in or rule out those causes.

If medical evaluation does not identify neurological or other medical causes and the movements appear connected with Kundalini, then I have ways to work on grounding your Kundalini.

Let Kundalini Move Gently Through the Nervous System

I work on diagnosing, moving, and processing Kundalini. I have ways, techniques, and methods to help involuntary movements work gently through your nervous system through nervous system regulation and natural methods.

My approach focuses on your health and well-being in a natural way. You have to live your life. This is what Kundalini wants. Kundalini wants you to live your life in the most natural way, and this is the highest grounding you can do.

Use Instinctive Activities for Grounding

Instinctive activities can include going into a jungle, exploring, being yourself in nature, taking sunlight, and allowing your body to move naturally. You can jump in nature or try to climb something.

Even if you try to climb and cannot complete it, you have taken the effort and moved your body. These instinctive movements activate what I call your primitive brain. When your primitive brain is activated, much of the grounding happens on its own without you deliberately trying to make it happen.

When your body is in constant movement, I understand the extra overload of energy and electrons in your nervous system as being grounded into the environment.

Let Nature Receive the Extra Charge

The natural environment takes away the overload of electrical charges from your energy field. This is the power of nature and the natural things around you.

When you are in nature, touch different natural objects. Feel the texture of a dry leaf with your hands and become aware of what happens when you hold and feel it. I understand this contact as allowing extra energetic charge to move from your system into the environment.

You can also do barefoot walking. If the terrain is appropriate, walk barefoot and experience the natural environment directly.

Consider What Else Is Affecting Your Nervous System

You also need to consider whether too much meditation, breathwork, or medications have been affecting your nervous system. Do not ignore a history of psychedelic drugs, smoking, drinking, alcohol consumption, substance abuse of any kind, or excessive meditation over a long period.

These factors can also cause your nervous system to behave in an unnatural way. But if you have ruled out other causes and these symptoms are Kundalini kriyas that you are deliberately stopping, then do not stop them.

Spread Your Body and Express Yourself

Try to express yourself and spread your body. When you are in nature, maintain an open posture and extend your hands outward as much as your body naturally allows.

When you extend your hands, movement can travel through the hands, pelvis, legs, and thighs. Your thigh muscles become activated. When you push against something, that pushing activity also makes your pelvis work.

A lot of energy can remain stuck in the pelvis region, core, and heart region. There can be many blocked areas in your body that leave you in a stuck mode.

Open Your Posture, Enjoy Life, and Breathe

If you want to experience life in a broader way, be in an open posture. Allow your body to move, engage with life naturally, enjoy life, and breathe.

The purpose is not to live in fear of every movement or to remain contracted while trying to control everything. Rule out other causes, understand what is happening within you, and when the movements are Kundalini kriyas, allow the process while grounding yourself through natural life.
