Background
Guru Sanju explains why the body may shake, twist, or move automatically during Kundalini awakening. She describes these involuntary movements, or kriyas, as movements that occur without voluntary control and may include head shaking, spinal twisting, arm movements, changes in body position, and leg shaking. She uses the analogy of water moving through a twisted and blocked pipe to explain how Kundalini life force moves through energy channels as blockages are released.
She connects these blockages with contraction in the body and nervous system, trauma, past blockages, stagnancy in life, and unexpressed experiences. She also emphasizes ruling out nutritional deficiencies, nervous system disorders, psychiatric problems, substance-related effects, and other medical causes before concluding that the movements are Kundalini. Her approach includes hydration, lubrication, prana, oxygen, nature, sunlight, green trees, natural earth, energy transmission, Shaktipat, and allowing Kundalini to move smoothly and gently.
What Are Involuntary Kundalini Movements?
When your body moves or shakes automatically during awakening, these are called involuntary movements or kriyas. Kriyas are natural to the awakening process and can appear in many different forms.
- Your head may shake automatically.
- Your spine may twist.
- Your arms may move or twist.
- Your body may move in different directions.
- Your legs may shake.
Involuntary means that you do not consciously control the movement. If you deliberately move your hands, stretch your arms, or change your posture during yoga, these are voluntary movements because you are intentionally putting your attention on moving your body in a certain way.
In an involuntary movement, your body automatically assumes a shape or movement. Your spine may twist or your head may begin shaking without you deliberately creating the movement.
Understand Kriyas Through a Water Pipe
Imagine a long water pipe that is twisted and has blockages within it. If those blockages are suddenly removed, the pipe opens and water rushes through it with full force.
When water rushes through with force, the pipe itself can begin moving in different directions. You can experiment with this yourself and observe what happens when water flows forcefully through a twisted pipe.
The same is the condition with your energy channels. When Kundalini awakening happens, Kundalini begins unblocking its way by removing blockages in your energy channels.
Why Your Energy Channels Become Contracted
Your energy channels can become twisted and turned because of contraction in your body, contraction in your nervous system, and the holds within your nervous system. These contractions can be connected with trauma, past blockages, stagnancy in life, and not expressing yourself.
Whatever you do not express remains depressed within your system. That depression creates the tendency for your energy channels to become twisted and curled.
When Kundalini is getting free from these restrictions, she is unblocking her way toward freedom.
Kundalini Is Your Life Force in Full Flow
Kundalini is your life force. When life force begins flowing in full flow, it is like a river flowing through its riverbed.
For something to move with full force in a particular direction, it needs clearance of space. If I have to move freely from one space to another, that space has to be clear. If there are blockages, movement becomes restricted.
Imagine again that a water pipe is twisted and turned. When water wants to flow through it with force, the pipe has to open. As it opens, it may move in different directions. Now imagine that the covering around this pipe is your body. This is a simple way to understand why the body can move when Kundalini is flowing through blocked energy channels.
Drop the Fear Around Kriyas
Once you understand this process, you can drop the fear around involuntary movements or kriyas and allow the process to happen.
For example, if there are blockages in my arms and I supply enough prana and oxygen to my body, blood circulation happens and energy circulation happens. The blockages can then begin to be removed through the opening of the energy channels and the responses of the nervous system.
Extra energy flows through the nervous system, and the body responds to that movement.
Energy Moves Through the Body in Different Directions
We have nerve endings at the hands and feet and at the different points through which energy moves outward. Our lips, nose, nasal cavity, nostrils through which we breathe, ears through which we listen, and the skin as a whole are involved in our experience of energy moving through the body.
Energy goes outward in different directions through the body. To understand this completely, you have to understand it from a very subtle level.
Check Other Causes of Involuntary Movement
There are other conditions that can also produce similar symptoms. If you are not eating well or you have a nutritional deficiency, your body and nervous system may become weak, and you may feel more of these symptoms.
You should get yourself checked through medical practitioners for possible causes such as:
- Nutritional deficiencies.
- Nervous system disorders.
- Psychiatric problems.
- Symptoms connected with substance abuse.
- Long-term alcohol use.
- Smoking.
- Use of psychedelics.
Symptoms connected with addictions and nutritional deficiencies can also appear in similar ways. If you are experiencing involuntary movements or kriyas, first get yourself checked through medical practitioners.
When the Movements Are Connected With Kundalini
Once you have ruled out these other causes and you do not have problems connected with these conditions, there is a possibility that Kundalini is processing within you, flowing through you, and releasing blockages in the body. In that situation, you should allow the process to happen.
At the same time, if you are experiencing too much fear, do not know what to do, or have experienced these involuntary movements for a long period, my advice is to get yourself diagnosed through me.
Hydrate and Lubricate the Body
In my diagnosis, I identify where the Kundalini blockages are and what you should do to lubricate your body and make yourself sufficiently hydrated. I also guide you through the overall protocol you need to follow to reduce the symptoms of involuntary movement in your body.
At the same time, I give energy transmission and Shaktipat to move Kundalini smoothly and gently. If Kundalini movement is violent and causing involuntary movements, the purpose is to help Kundalini settle down and move smoothly through your system.
Kundalini Circulation Needs Prana
You need a lot of prana for Kundalini circulation. For prana, you need huge spaces filled with nature and negative ions.
- You need sunlight.
- You need green trees.
- You need natural earth.
- You need natural spaces.
- You need to feel the wind.
- You need to feel life.
With access to these natural resources, you may feel that the involuntary movements reduce. You cannot remain in a packed room once your Kundalini has awakened. You have to get access to the natural forces of Earth, and this becomes possible when you go out into nature.
Work With Kundalini in Natural Energy
If you want to work on yourself through me, you can come for a physical project for a particular duration. I conduct most of my projects in places that I describe as energy vortexes, where prana and energetic qualities are high and Kundalini energy in nature is abundant.
The sun is a source of prana, and when sunlight and natural energy are abundant, they aid the process. Along with these natural forces, my prana, the cosmic prana that flows through me to you through energy transmission, creates a huge shift.
You receive transformative energy from me and from nature. If you are actually suffering and want to create a shift in your life, you can work with me through this process.
