How do you overcome imposter syndrome?
Imposter syndrome is rooted in a belief—or more accurately, a doubt. A deep self-doubt about your own abilities, your accomplishments, and the value of your skills and talents. Even when you’ve achieved something externally, you still feel insecure. You still feel you’re not good enough. You feel undeserving of the gifts or recognition you’ve received.
You never feel confident. You start behaving like an imposter—not because you are one, but because of multiple layers of conditioning you’ve picked up or adopted throughout your life. Regardless of your age, if you’re struggling with imposter syndrome, this message has the potential to begin your healing—if you’re ready to apply the technique shared here.
Most people suffering from imposter syndrome are also battling chronic anxiety. You may find yourself breathing in a shallow, rapid manner—stuck in hyperactivity. Your sympathetic nervous system is in overdrive. You’re not operating from a place of calm awareness or from your higher self. You’re simply surviving.
Here’s a powerful technique. It’s simple, but you must practice it consistently for it to be effective.
First, bring one recurring self-doubting thought into your awareness. For example: “I am not good enough,” or “I am fat, I am obese, I cannot do things well.” These kinds of thoughts are often accompanied by shame or inner criticism.
Bring the thought into your conscious awareness.
Now, as you hold that thought in your field of awareness, take a long exhalation through your mouth—like this: Haaaa… Let your attention be completely on the exhalation. Not on the thought. You are not engaging with the thought—only witnessing it while deeply exhaling.
Repeat this.
Say the thought internally—“I am not enough”—and exhale deeply.
Do this continuously until the emotional charge behind the thought dissolves. It will dissolve. A time will come when only your exhalation remains—and the thought will vanish. Its power will evaporate. The more you do this—100 times, 1,000 times—the more that particular belief will leave your subconscious, your mind, and your energy field.
As that belief dissolves, you will begin to radiate from a higher level of consciousness. You will operate from a better, truer quality of thought. Apply this to every thought that causes anxiety or inner collapse.
The second technique involves your body. Throughout the day, engage in continuous in-and-out belly movement. Let your belly expand and contract in a flowing motion. You can place your hand on your abdomen at first to feel the movement. Later, you’ll be able to do this even while talking, walking, or working. Let the belly move rhythmically at all times.
This belly movement, done continuously for 30 days, 100 days, will begin to change you. Your thoughts will shift. You’ll begin releasing the energetic imprint of the imposter identity. You’ll stop living from the caged self and start living from the liberated self.
However, you also need to work on your thought processes. If you wish to go deeper and work directly with me, you are welcome to book my consultation. Through one-on-one guidance and participation in my programs, I will help you rewire your brain and nervous system. We will work to shift the very neural pathways that support the imposter identity.
There are deeper reflexes and subconscious patterns at play—and those can only be fully reprogrammed through dedicated, guided practice.
You don’t have to live as an imposter anymore. You can rise above it. You can be completely free from it.
Start now.
Change yourself.
Have a great day.
