Life skills include the fundamental skill of cooking. As a man, if you want to live an independent life—if you want to feel that independence—you must be able to cook your meals. If you cannot cook your meals when you are hungry, then you are dependent on other people. And if you are dependent on other people, then you are not free. You can become powerful only when you know how to feed yourself by cooking some healthy food that is good for your body and also covers all the nutrition requirements of your body.
If you don’t have the life skill of cooking, then essentially you are eating food made by other people or ordering food from outside, which may not suit what your brain needs. When you are living an independent life, the freedom of cooking when you are hungry is the best freedom. Imagine yourself—you are living the life of a digital nomad where you are somewhere out in the outskirts of the cities or having your experience in a mountain or maybe on a riverside. Maybe in that place there are no shops available, no restaurants available, or hotels available from where you can order food. But if you are independent and have the skill to cook yourself, you can cook the way you want, and also you can have the food having your energy invested in the food.
When you cook food on your own, the pranic content of the food—the energetic component of the food—remains intact. Let me tell you also: food is a divine creation made from the love energy of the cook or the chef or the person who is cooking. Whatever name you give, if you are cooking for yourself with that intention, that energy gets transferred to the food. And when you eat the food, you get the energetic benefits of that food and you experience that in the form of peace, happiness, joy, bliss, and you get quality sleep.
But if you are all the time eating food cooked by other people, then that person may not necessarily be in high energy, because that person may be an employee in a hotel or a restaurant or a food joint or cloud kitchen. And that state from which that person is cooking the food goes into the food that you are eating.
Not only this—if you are ordering the food and it is getting delivered by someone who may not be in the best energy, who may not be in the best form to deliver you the food—all these energies are transferred to the food, and you are filled with those energies. If you understand the energetic importance of eating the food that you cook, most of the time you will prefer to cook on your own, and that will heal your brain.
So, cook your meal to heal. Cook your meal to rewire your brain. When you cook your meal yourself, this is an instinctive function of the brain. This is the primitive function of the brain. And you will know that most of your health issues are getting solved or you are getting healthier day by day because of this one activity included as your daily routine.
You should at least cook one meal for yourself, completely engrossed in that. You should be present with all your awareness, intention, attention, and energy while cooking the food. You should use your five senses. And when you do this, your nervous system gets rejuvenated. Your brain—the primitive brain—keeps giving you ideas about how to cook, and all your cognitive functions, as well as the right brain (the creative function), the logical brain (the left brain), and the creative brain—both these brains get activated. Because when you are cooking food, both your hands are used. Both your hands are used in the process, and your eyes are rotating here and there. Every sense, your full body, is involved in the act of cooking.
So, if you are having any of the brain-related health issues, I suggest you start cooking your meal. And in today’s world, there are many ways to learn how to cook. You can learn all the cuisines in the world, or you can invent your own food when you are in the kitchen. As a man, make yourself an independent person and become a scientist. Make your kitchen your lab where you experiment with all the different raw materials and you convert them into a good meal that you consume.
Sometimes you will fail in making something. Sometimes it will be a different experience. But all these challenges make up and activate your primitive brain. Your primitive brain knows how to cook because from there it has been evolved.
In your case, all the health issues are due to overusing your prefrontal cortex—that is the front part, the top part of the brain. You have accumulated all the skills. You have learned all the technology. You have learned all the skills of the modern world. You know how to work in an office. You know how to earn money. You know how the world functions. But your middle brain—that is the emotional brain, which is responsible for your emotional quotient—and the lower part of the brain, that is the primitive brain—these two brains are weak. And that is why you have all the brain-related health issues.
If you start implementing all the techniques that I teach you through videos or through my projects, you will be a transformed man. You will start living life differently, from a different space. You will understand the importance of healing yourself on a daily basis, that no medication, no other holistic healing or other things will help you.
If you are eating three times a day or six times a day, everything should be touched by you. It should come from you. You should make your own sandwich. You should make your own rice, pulses, vegetables—anything. I’m not naming a specific meal. But you will know what your body needs. How much fruits you need, how much nuts you need, how much fluids you need, in what form you need, whether you need soups, whether you need carbohydrates and in what form. What is the way to eat and feed—your brain requires maximum amount of nutrition to function well.
And the four main nutrition or the components or the raw materials for the brain are:
- Prana (oxygen) – Your brain needs 20% of oxygen. So you should be able to breathe well. You should be doing belly breathing or you should be breathing through your diaphragm all the time. Your diaphragm should move up and down all the time. If that is not happening, then you should have a check on it.
- Water – You should have plenty of water. Listen to the body—there is no fixed liters of water that you should consume every day. Your body may need 8 to 9 liters of water or 4 to 5 liters—whatever is required for your body to work on your metabolism.
- Nutrition – Coming from the food which gets converted into glucose. The quality of glucose depends on what kind of food you are eating and how you are eating. Here comes the conscious eating process. And for conscious eating, you need to follow the steps that are required. For that, you need to learn from me how to do conscious eating. Your mind doesn’t learn how to do conscious eating because it is unconscious. For that, you have to be with me to learn the process. But know that without conscious eating, you will not be able to heal your brain.
- Happy Hormones – When you involve your brain, nervous system, and your entire system in the act of cooking, all the four hormones are released. That is not released by any other activity apart from sex.
When you are involved in cooking, your dopamine is released because a sense of achievement is associated with it, and you will feel that shift. Observe your energy before starting the cooking process and observe it after you have cooked it. And when you are cooking it, don’t be an eater. Don’t be the consumer of the food. Just be the creator of the food. When you are doing this act of cooking from this space, you will feel that after the cooking process is over, or during the process, you are feeling energetic and a kind of achievement with each process happening in the food-making process.
For that, keep your phone aside on silent mode. You can play music in the background, you can create an ambience, and you can just enjoy the process in a totally different way. So, engage yourself in this entire act of cooking, and then only dopamine will be released.
The next is oxytocin. D-O-S-E. DOSE—means all the good hormones are released. O means oxytocin. Oxytocin is released when you love yourself, you hug your loved ones, and you are in that love energy. When you are pouring your love energy, your heart chakra will open up, and you will experience that the food is becoming tastier, you are concerned about how to make it more tasty, how to make it more meaningful, so that when you eat it, you feel that love energy poured from you in the food. So that is released when you cook food with love and engage yourself in the entire activity.
Next is serotonin. Serotonin is released when you are serving others. In this case, you are serving yourself. And there are lots of surprises. Serotonin is also released when a lot of surprise element is involved in life. So cooking experience makes you experience a different quality of life because you don’t know what will happen next. So always try to cook different kinds of meals or the same meal in different styles. Apart from the staple food of rice, still you can experiment with cooked food, and that you will know once you are engaged in this entire act of cooking. So that sense of serving yourself will release serotonin.
And next is endorphin. Endorphin is released when you’re exercising your body. When you are exercising, you release endorphin. That is good. But when you are including cooking in your daily routine, your whole body is getting exercised. You pound, you grate, you cut, you hold. All your nervous system, your muscle movement is happening. And the cooking involves the instinctive cooking, where you are not using too much of modern-day technological appliances. Then the original way of cooking food is very much healthier for your body to make you fit.
If you regularly do the cooking activity, your extra weight will reduce because you are doing lots of exercises naturally. And this, your primitive brain understands. That is why I teach my students who come for the physical project through the Phoenix Project or Freedom Project how to cook your basic meal. When they are cooked in a certain way, it is called dal. It is Indian food, or the food common to the Asian region, which is healthier for your bodies, especially if you are going through some energetic disturbances or brain and mental health issues, problems.
Then the rice, which is boiled in a certain way, in the most simplest way—that rice—and some vegetables cooked in a certain way. And when you eat food combining these two-three meals separately cooked, you get all the nutrition from the food. The vegetables contain fiber, minerals, and all the essentials that your body needs in the most natural way because you cook the vegetables in the most simplest way. And some spices are also mixed in it like turmeric, salt, asafoetida powder, then cumin powder, or other spices mixed together—chili powder, chili, and other things.
The next is rice. Rice is the good source of carbohydrate. So you get the essential benefits of carbohydrate when you have that. And next is dal—pulses—which is the combination of a few pulses and highest in protein. So all these three foods are so much necessary for your brain and nervous system.
And if you are associated in any place in the world, then you can try this—the three food. And in today’s world, you can learn how to cook through videos on the Internet and watch how it functions. And there is no rocket science to it. You create the food, you have it. Your body will give you the signals—how you feel it. And feeling is healing. How you feel when you eat your meal leads to your healing.
So you need to take the initiative to learn how to cook your own meal. If in future you want to live an independent life, or you are already living an independent life, include this life skill in your life. You need to work on your life, not on your lifestyle. Don’t upgrade your lifestyle. Upgrade your life. And upgrading your life means you should be able to cook your own meal.
You should be able to clean your dishes. Whenever you engage in cooking, lots of work related to cleaning dishes also helps your nervous system to rejuvenate, because cleaning dishes is not possible without water element. And when you expose yourself to the cleaning activity, your water element in the body is balanced, and your energy flow in the nervous system is continuous. And that you will experience.
If you have fibromyalgia issues, if you have any issues related to chronic fatigue syndrome or arthritis, start doing this—or any nervous system disorder—you start cleaning your dishes every day, and you will see the difference in 30 days, how you feel about life. Most of your pain and blockages will go away, and you’ll feel like doing this activity more and more. So start doing the cleaning—cleaning the dishes—during or after cooking the dishes, after having your meal. Clean your dishes. Don’t outsource it to other people or machines or anything else. Clean it with your hands, and your nervous system problem will be solved.
The blood circulation in your body and the energy circulation in your energy system will increase, and all these will lead to the increase in your cosmic electricity that will keep you in present. Your brain will heal. Next is when you cook food, that time also you use a lot of water, and all the food—the raw materials, the vegetables, the fruits, the pulses, cereals—everything comes from the earth. And when you touch this with your hands—don’t use gloves—if you are cooking food with gloves, it is not going to help you the way I’m telling you. You have to use your hands, because your hands have some useful bacteria that goes to the food that helps in your gut health.
When you’re cooking the food and using your hands—also when you are eating your food, you are using your hands—don’t use spoons other than for liquid or soupy meals. Use your hand to cook, to eat food, and know what the traditional way of eating food with your hands means. And that will transform many things in your life.
It will increase the earth element. It will balance the earth element in you. Whatever is in the universe, whatever is in the external universe, is in you. The five elements that you get outside is also in you. And when you eat, when you cook your own meal, the fire element is also introduced to you. That fire that you get in contact with when you are cooking your meal—that also activates the fire element in your body, and that is the best benefit.
So instead of electricity or electric way of cooking meals or microwaves, use the process of any appliance that could be related to fire. The fire is burning, you’re looking at it, you are engaging your senses while cooking the food. And when you do all these—fire, water, and earth element—the movement of your body, that balances the air element in your body, because you’re breathing well. Suddenly, you will see that since your body is moving, your breathing has improved. Your breathing is the inhalation and exhalation function in the body—it is happening well because your body is moving. It is no more in freeze mode. It is in rest and digest mode. And that is why you’re feeling the fresh air coming in, and all the combustion that happens, that leads to congestion in your body, toxicity—is going out through this one process.
And last—when you do all this—your space element: there is nothing in the mind. Everything is created. There is no thinking involved—what you will eat, from where to order, from everything—everything is gone. And gradually, you will become intelligent enough to engage yourself in good planning. Whatever you feel, you will bring the raw materials early, and you will use it for your cooking. So apply all the instinctive and the primitive ways of life that you know so far and see the change it brings to your life.
