How to Choose a Guru?

Guru Sanju

This topic is not for everyone. It may not sit well with your ego. So, if you’ve come here only to test or judge—if you’re already overflowing with fixed beliefs, if you’re deeply attached to the image of a guru you revere, whether living or dead, but who contributes nothing to your growth—then this message is not for you. You can skip it.

But if you’re genuinely seeking, if your heart is aching for truth, and if you’re willing to hear something your ego may resist, then stay.

Can You Choose a Guru?

The first truth I must reveal is this: you cannot choose a Guru.

The very question “How to choose a guru?” is flawed. A guru is not something you pick like fruit in a marketplace. A guru is given to you. The guru arrives through divine orchestration, not mental selection.

How?

Through your eligibility.

It is your karmic eligibility, your past-life sadhanas, your accumulated merits, that summon the Guru into your life. When the student is ready, the Master appears. And when the student becomes truly ready—completely ripe in surrender and inner knowing—the Master dissolves.

This is the fundamental truth of the Guru–disciple relationship.

The Timing of the Guru’s Arrival

The Guru arrives not when you are full of effort, but when you are completely broken. When your suffering has reached its peak. When depression feels bottomless. When no effort you make can lift you anymore. That is the moment the Guru appears.

When you finally surrender—not out of choice, but out of exhaustion and helplessness—then the divine hands arrive in human form.

If, at this point of your deepest suffering, the Guru has entered your life in my form, in the form of Siddha Guru Sanju, then offer your hand. Let yourself be rescued. Do not waste time. The timing is never wrong. It is your karmas and your soul’s yearning that brought you here.

Signs of a True Guru

Still, if you are wondering how to recognize a true Guru—if you are lost in a forest of false lights—then let me guide you toward discernment.

1. No Ego of Being Spiritual

A true Guru carries no ego about being spiritual. If someone constantly identifies with being a spiritual person, flaunting their spirituality, then they are not a true Guru. That is a sign of a false one.

2. No Show of Perfection

If the person is trying to appear perfect—in dress, in speech, in posture—and it feels manufactured, know that it is fake. Spirituality is not an act. Truth is never dressed up.

3. No Insecurity Toward Your Talents

A true Guru will never feel insecure or threatened by your intelligence, talent, or skills. If someone who calls themselves a Guru begins to compare themselves with you, or enters into subtle competition with you, they are not a true Guru.

4. Your Growth Is Their Sole Focus

A real Guru cares only about your transformation—not about blaming you for your past, nor keeping you trapped in guilt. They are not here to remind you of your wrongdoings.

The true Guru is neutral. Your story does not interest them. Your worldly accomplishments do not matter. Their role is to uplift you from the moment you meet. If a guru is overly concerned with your achievements, status, or social standing, beware.

Let Your Inner GPS Guide You

Beyond all signs, if your consciousness is awake, if you are not blinded by the mind, then your inner GPS—your soul, your spirit—will lead you to the true Guru.

You won’t have to choose. You will be led.

And when you stand in the presence of the real Master, you will bow down. Not out of submission, but in deep inner recognition. Your soul will know. You will melt. You will weep. You will fall in gratitude.

That is not a decision. That is remembrance.

Purify Yourself First

If you are truly seeking a Guru, then start not by searching outward, but by purifying yourself. Cleanse your inner space. Work on yourself. Still your mind. Quiet your judgments. Soften your ego.

Only then can you manifest the right Guru.

When the universe deems you ready, the Guru will come. It may be a him, a her, or an energy you never expected. But they will appear, unmistakably.

All you have to do is be receptive, be surrendered, and be in acceptance.

What Comes Next

If this message has stirred something within you, and you feel the call to transform, then I invite you to walk the path with me.

You may begin with a spiritual or Kundalini diagnosis to assess where you truly are. From there, you may be guided to join the Freedom Project, or Phoenix Project—each designed to awaken, empower, and liberate you.

But only after the connection is real. Only when you know from your soul.

Until then, bow not to faces. Bow only to truth.
