Background
In this teaching, I, Siddha Guru Sanju, reveal one of the most profound secrets for every awakened being — the science of negative ions and their role in healing the human nervous system during Kundalini awakening. Many seekers, after their awakening, face hopelessness and energetic exhaustion. This discourse arises from my direct experience in nature and years of guiding awakened souls through grounding and breath-based energy harmonization. Through this teaching, you will understand how negative ions are not merely physical particles but carriers of divine prana. You will also learn a simple yet powerful practice of mouth exhalation that allows your body to absorb negative ions, neutralize toxic energies, and restore inner balance. The guidance shared here is meant for immediate practice — wherever you are, you can begin the transformation now.
Negative Ions: The Hope for the Awakened
Negative ions are the hope for Kundalini-awakened people. If you have become hopeless in life, know that there is something divine waiting for you — a gift of life energy, a doorway to balance. You do not have to wait for a special time or a sacred place. The process begins wherever you are.
However, it is vital to understand where negative ions are not available. Closed rooms, polluted spaces, and areas with excess carbon dioxide are low in negative ions. When the atmosphere has more carbon dioxide, it creates an energetic imbalance. In pranic terms, this is known as apana — the downward and toxic current of energy, representing a state devoid of electrons.
Understanding the Atomic Energy of Life
Let us understand this more deeply. Positive ions are atoms with fewer electrons and more protons. Protons carry positive charge, while electrons carry negative charge. When an atom loses its electron, it becomes reactive — seeking to combine with other atoms to neutralize its imbalance. Such atoms carry a positive charge and have the tendency to attach themselves to other elements.
When such positively charged atoms enter your body through the air you breathe, they combine with free electrons from your cells. This creates internal chemical reactions that put pressure on your organs and the nervous system. Simply said, positive ions drain energy, while negative ions restore it.
Negative ions are atoms with an excess of electrons. These electrons are not hoarded but freely given — they share themselves to neutralize and heal. The moist environments of forests, waterfalls, and rain-soaked earth are abundant in these ions. That is why you feel instantly rejuvenated in nature.
The Acidic and Alkaline Balance
Remember three simple truths.
First, carbon dioxide is acidic in nature and corresponds to positive ions.
Second, oxygen is alkaline and corresponds to negative ions.
And third, your body’s energy field thrives in an alkaline state, both chemically and pranicly.
Whenever you inhale oxygen-rich air, you feel freshness and clarity. But when you breathe the stale air of closed rooms, you feel depleted and heavy. Carbon dioxide, being acidic, produces excess heat and stagnation in the body. Oxygen, being alkaline, cools, purifies, and balances the system.
When your body becomes acidic due to stress, stagnation, or poor breathing, you must consciously exhale more. Exhalation releases carbon dioxide and allows oxygen — and negative ions — to enter your system. Without exhaling the stale air, you cannot inhale freshness.
The Science of Exhalation
To neutralize the effects of positive ions, the key is to exhale deeply and consciously. Through exhalation, carbon dioxide leaves your system, making space for oxygen and negative ions to enter. That is why exhalation is more important than inhalation.
If you practice continuous mouth exhalation while walking in nature, you will receive the benefits of negative ions far more than sitting in a closed room. This is because mouth exhalation allows direct exchange of air and releases stagnant carbon dioxide more effectively.
When you come out in the morning, walk gently, and begin mouth exhalation, the atmosphere itself becomes your healer. But remember — this cannot happen passively. You must actively participate in life. You must know what to eat, how to breathe, and how to live so that the body can handle Kundalini energy with grace.
Practice of Mouth Exhalation
Let me guide you step by step. From the moment you wake up in the morning, begin your mouth exhalation journey.
Stand or walk on the ground, ideally on grass or soil. Start exhaling through your mouth in slow motion. There is no need to rush. This is not a competition of breath; this is an act of being alive.
Feel the breath leaving you. Feel the pauses that arise between exhalations. Those pauses are life itself. In this practice, the pauses are as important as the breath.
Your exhalation should be full and complete — like releasing every particle of stale air. Once you complete one exhalation, allow your body to naturally inhale and exhale a few times before starting the next conscious breath. Continue this gentle cycle.
As you walk, your breath rhythmically aligns with the movement of your feet and the pulse of the Earth.
It should be like this:
Exhale slowly through the mouth, pause, allow a natural breath, and again exhale consciously.
This sequence may look simple, but it holds deep pranic science. Each exhalation is a purification; each pause is a doorway to stillness.
Integrating Breath with Daily Life
You can also practice this while walking up or down the stairs. With every step, perform one complete exhalation. Only after one full exhalation is done, begin the next. Do not rush. Let each breath complete its journey before another begins.
When done with awareness, this practice not only cleanses carbon dioxide from your body but also harmonizes your nervous system. The overactive mind calms, and the energy flow through your nadis — the subtle channels — becomes smoother.
As you practice, you will begin to feel a natural lightness. You may even feel subtle tingling or expansion in your chest or face — a sign of increased oxygen and pranic flow.
Nature as the Source of Negative Ions
Look around you when practicing. If you have Erica plants or other green vegetation nearby, you are surrounded by natural sources of negative ions. Such plants are powerful purifiers. Even placing them indoors can raise the vibration of your home.
In upcoming teachings, I will share how to create a negative-ion-rich space in your home with indoor plants — a living sanctuary of oxygen, prana, and peace.
For now, simply enjoy the process of mouth exhalation. Feel your connection with the Earth beneath you, the wind that carries freshness, and the subtle moisture in the air that enhances ion exchange.
As I practice, I notice droplets of rain falling on still water nearby. The water’s surface, the air’s moisture, and my own breath together form a beautiful communion of life.
Grounding and Energy Recharge
While grounding on this earth and exhaling slowly, I feel something unique — an energetic pulse rising from the soil into my feet, merging with the rhythm of my breath. It is as if the Earth herself is exhaling through me.
This is the miracle of instinctive grounding. Today, I experienced the highest form of grounding through this union of earth and breath. I feel recharged — and so can you.
Every environment has its own energy. Some spaces radiate peace; others drain vitality. When you align instinctively with nature’s rhythm, every cell begins to resonate with balance. Ask yourself: Are you an instinctive being?
Feel the answer in silence, not through thought but through breath.
Practicing on Terrace or Grass
You can practice this mouth exhalation even on your terrace. However, true grounding happens when you touch grass or soil with your bare feet. If you are doing it on a terrace, do so under sunlight. The sun’s rays energize the air and increase negative ions, enhancing the practice.
But remember — nothing compares to grounding on real grass. The living connection with the Earth completes the energetic circuit of your body and restores balance in the root and sacral chakras.
Closing Message
This is all for today’s teaching on the mouth exhalation technique. Practice it every morning, preferably in nature, to release toxins and invite negative ions into your system.
In the next discourse, I will guide you through the experience of grass grounding — how the Earth’s magnetic and ionic field can stabilize the Kundalini energy within you.
Until then, breathe out fully, live instinctively, and let the healing energy of nature flow through you.
