Kundalini Awakening and Criticism: How to Handle Criticism? Feedback Vs Criticism

Understanding the Energy of Criticism

What is criticism? What is the difference between feedback and criticism? How do you handle criticism and work on feedback?

Criticism, in terms of energy, is negative energy. It rises from the center of a person due to the negative emotions that they carry within themselves. Whenever you criticize someone, pause and look at your own energy. How do you feel? Where is that energy coming from? Either it is coming from your mind—laden with the negativity you experience towards that person—or it is born from jealousy over whatever has happened in that situation.

Criticism feels like fire burning within you. It leaves you dull and heavy, weighted down by negativity. Similarly, when others criticize you, they are also filled with the same negativity. Their words are not coming from clarity but from their own heaviness, and they use criticism as a way to demean you by pointing out something—often just an opinion. Remember, anyone can form an opinion about anything. How seriously will you take every single opinion you come across?

Everybody has the freedom to speak, but they speak only what is stored within them. If they are filled with negativity and inner garbage, they will throw it out in the form of criticism. The real question is: how seriously should you take the opinions that flow out of such people?

Why People Criticize

Similarly, when you criticize others, you must look at yourself. Why are you doing so? What is the need to criticize? Why do you feel the compulsion to point out the mistakes of others? Most often, this is to showcase your own lack or incapacity in that field of work or activity.

Only when a person is unable to do something themselves do they start criticizing external factors—the role of government, the role of the educational system, the role of parents, society, or even the world in general.

When you work sincerely on yourself and your own areas of improvement, you will not have time to peep into the lives of others. You will not be distracted by what others are doing. And similarly, when you do not allow others to peep into your life, you naturally keep away the negative energies that they generate toward you.

The Problem with Criticism

Criticism always comes with a problem. Every critic has a problem with something you do. But notice this: critics never come with a solution. They only highlight faults. They speak about what they dislike, but they do not bring any constructive pathway forward.

That is why it is so important to distinguish between criticism and feedback. When you learn this difference, you can keep away critics and criticism from negatively affecting you, which otherwise hinders your growth as a human being.

The Nature of Feedback

Feedback, unlike criticism, comes with a spirit of improvement. It may be positive or negative, but both forms of feedback have value.

Positive feedback is about appreciating you for the good you are doing—in your work, in your life, in your behavior. Negative feedback, on the other hand, points out your limitations and drawbacks so that you can improve and become a better person, either personally or professionally.

Feedback carries hope. It is generally given by those who love you, by those who want to see you rise and succeed. Feedback comes with the intention of upliftment.

Criticism, in contrast, comes from those who do not love you. Critics hate you or resent you. They criticize in order to pull you down. In other words, only haters criticize you endlessly, trolling and chasing you so they can bully or dominate you. The very act of domination and bullying becomes food for their negative energies. Critics are sadists; they feed on negative outcomes.

The Energy Behind Critics

Critics are filled with negative energies of hatred, jealousy, anger, greed, and fear. These energies keep them low in life. Critics are not action-takers. They remain stuck in motion without direction. They cannot create, so they attack creators.

In today’s digital era, these negative energies thrive on social media. Whatever you post, you will attract critics. But remember—you do not need validation for every work you do. Why should you seek validation?

If you know that what you have done is good—good from the perspective of truth, good from the perspective of quality, good from the perspective of the Creator—then why seek opinions? Validation becomes important only when you feel your work is incomplete without the approval of others.

When Feedback is Necessary

However, in professional life, feedback is essential. If you are a professional, you need both positive feedback and negative feedback from your clients or mentors. Positive feedback affirms that you are doing well. Negative feedback guides you toward improvement. But both should come in a professional manner.

You cannot allow everyone walking on the street to comment on you or criticize you. Who are they in your life? Why should you allow strangers to become hostile and trespass into your private space of being?

In the animal kingdom, things are more instinctive. Each animal has its space, and before one animal crosses into another’s territory, it must instinctively seek permission. But human beings, though more evolved, often trespass into each other’s energetic boundaries.

Our inner GPS is designed in such a way that it immediately gives signals toward negative energies. You can feel it: somewhere in the gut you feel stuck, you feel bad when you encounter negativity. When you do not receive positive feedback, you sense it.

This inner knowing—the uneasiness in your gut, the heaviness in your chest—is a signal from your inner GPS telling you that the person in front of you is filled with hatred or envy. It may be a family member, a relative, a friend, a colleague, or even someone you thought supported you.

When such a person criticizes you, their intention is not to uplift but to demean you, so that you stop doing the good you are doing.

Example: Following Inner Guidance

For example, imagine you are in a job and suddenly your inner GPS tells you to quit and begin something on your own. You feel a pull toward starting up, experimenting with your creativity. You begin to follow that calling.

The moment you take that step, critics will arise. Family, friends, and relatives will suddenly claim to know more about what is good for you than you know yourself. They will tell you what is safe, what is risky, what is possible, what is impossible. They will attempt to criticize your path because your courage exposes their fear.

But your inner GPS knows your truth.

How to Handle Criticism

So how do you handle criticism and work with feedback? The answer is to listen to your inner GPS. Learn how to tune in to your Consciousness, to the inbuilt system of guidance within you.

Your inner GPS knows exactly what is good for you, what is bad for you, where your areas of improvement lie, and how to keep away negative people and their toxic energy.

When you learn to follow this inner compass, criticism no longer shakes you. You begin to discern between criticism that comes from hate and feedback that comes from love. You naturally protect yourself from negative people while still growing from constructive guidance.
