Why Kundalini Kriyas Continue Outside Meditation

September 20, 2026

Background

Guru Sanju explains that Kundalini kriyas are not dependent on meditation. Although involuntary movements may first appear or become noticeable during meditation, she teaches that they can continue while sitting, standing, working, talking, or performing ordinary activities because Kundalini continues its unblocking process beyond meditation.

She describes kriyas as involuntary movements of the nervous system associated with the release of blocked energy, while emphasizing that similar symptoms can also arise from hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies, oxygenation problems, physical conditions, and other medical causes. Her approach combines medical evaluation with practical Kundalini processing through self-expression, responding to the body’s needs in the present moment, fresh food, hydration, electrolytes, lubrication, reduced caffeine and toxicity, and individualized guidance. She also emphasizes releasing judgment and allowing life force to express itself naturally.

Kriyas Are Not Dependent on Meditation

Why do Kundalini kriyas happen even outside meditation? Give this a thought. Do you feel that kriyas happen because of meditation?

Most people who are going through Kundalini awakening, or whose Kundalini is already in an awakened state, experience involuntary movements of the body called kriyas. These kriyas are not dependent on meditation.

You may first experience them during meditation, but that does not mean they are confined to meditation alone. Understand this clearly because it can free you from many problems that arise from mishandling these movements.

Kriyas Are Involuntary Nervous System Movements

Kriyas are involuntary movements of the nervous system that happen due to the unblocking of Kundalini. It is good news when your kriyas are part of this unblocking process, so do not try to stop them, control them, or restrict them.

You may experience sudden jerks, involuntary movements in your hands, shaking of your legs, weakness in your legs, or vibratory movements. When these movements are genuinely connected with Kundalini, I understand them as Kundalini doing its work, and you should support the process.

Kriyas Can Happen During Ordinary Life

Your kriyas may happen while you are sitting, standing, working, driving, or talking to someone. This means that at that moment some kind of energy unblocking may also be happening within you.

Come out of the myth that kriyas should happen only during meditation. If they are happening throughout your daily life, even twenty-four hours a day, there is a high possibility that Kundalini is getting free and unblocking blocked energies in your nervous system.

Understanding Kriyas Changes Your Experience

These involuntary movements can affect you positively or negatively depending on your understanding. If you are well-read and properly informed about how Kundalini works, you can understand what is happening.

If you are not informed or properly guided, you may experience these symptoms as something alien. You may enter fear mode because something seems to be happening that you cannot control.

These involuntary movements happen as the control of the personality and the image you have created and held for so long begin unwinding and unblocking within you.

Kundalini Is Clearing Your Blockages

Kundalini clears blockages in your energy channels and energy centers. These blockages can release as electrified energy through involuntary movements of the hands, neck, head, spine, and body.

Your whole body can become operational in this process. I describe it as being under a great surgery of Kundalini, where detoxification is happening within you.

Stop Judging Yourself

Your responsibility is to process Kundalini properly. The first thing you have to do is stop judging yourself.

If you are constantly around people who judge you, stay away from that judgment and begin processing Kundalini without continually judging yourself. One of the most harmful things you can do is judge yourself because of your kriyas.

Rule Out Physical and Medical Causes

If you are not sure whether your kriyas are happening because of Kundalini, consider whether there are other issues in your body. Hormonal changes, physical health problems, nutritional deficiencies, or oxygenation issues may also contribute to these symptoms.

Get yourself checked through medical practitioners. If there is genuinely a physical problem, you can address it through appropriate treatment, diet, nutrition, and whatever else is medically required.

But when other causes have been addressed and the movements are genuinely part of your Kundalini process, do not stop Kundalini from clearing through the kriyas.

Suppressed Expression Creates Blockages

Take the example of the throat chakra. I repeatedly come across people who suppress their expression. They do not speak when they feel they need to speak.

You have to speak what you feel in the moment with the same person with whom the issue exists. If you have a problem with your wife, husband, or children, the person is there when the problem arises. If you suppress your expression instead of expressing it in that moment, I understand that suppressed expression as remaining blocked in your throat chakra.

I connect this blockage with thyroid problems and other issues involving the throat. You may also be unable to breathe well because of compression around the esophagus, and digestive problems may arise. One blockage can therefore appear through many different symptoms.

Take Care of Your Body in the Moment

If I cough while I am speaking and need water, I drink water. I first take care of my body and make the effort to give it what it needs without judging myself in that moment.

The energy is then released in the present moment, and I am free from it. This is the freedom of expression that I practice through my teachings.

If you have qualities within you that you suppress instead of expressing, or if you block your life force from behaving naturally when you feel something, there is a possibility that you will remain stuck in life and involuntary kriyas will continue happening.

Give Your Life Force What It Needs

If you want to reduce involuntary movements in your body, provide your life force with what it needs in the moment when it needs it.

  • Eat when you are hungry.
  • Drink when you are thirsty.
  • Sleep when you are sleepy.
  • Eat the right food.
  • Drink the right drinks.
  • Avoid addiction to alcohol and other toxicity that considerably affects your nervous system.
  • Reduce caffeine if it is affecting your nervous system.
  • Avoid stale food and eat fresh food.
  • Drink plenty of electrolytes.
  • Provide sufficient lubrication to your system.

Find Where Kundalini Is Stuck

I can give you specific instructions through my personal consultation. I diagnose where the actual stuckness is within you and where Kundalini is stuck.

When you become free from that stuckness, the untimely involuntary movements can stop and that particular symptom can subside. You can get the remaining details from our website.

Work Directly on the Kundalini Process

If you have worked on your Kundalini problems for years and are still unable to resolve them, you can come for the physical project. There I use multiple actions through energy work, energy transmission, grounding activities, and personal work with you.

I work with power on you to move and direct your Kundalini in the right direction. The purpose is to address the stuckness, support the unblocking process, and allow Kundalini to move without unnecessarily suppressing the kriyas.
